If you do not see your insurance carrier listed, please check back soon as I have begun the credentialing process with other insurance companies as well.
If your insurance company is not listed that means I am an "out of network" provider for that particular insurance company. I am happy to help you contact your insurance company to see if your plan includes "out of network benefits" and in such cases I may be able to bill your insurance company directly. Otherwise, I will provide a receipt for each session should you desire reimbursement from your insurance company. My clients who do this report they receive about a 60% reimbursement rate from their insurance companies, making their total session payment equivalent to that of most co-pays.
Please note that your insurance company may request disclosure of a diagnosis as a requirement for reimbursement. Many clients prefer fee for service therapy so that they do not have to share their protected health care information with their insurance companies, and so that they, not their insurance companies steer the course of treatment.
Prior to our first appointment, it is your responsibility to contact your insurance company and determine your mental health benefits. However, I will be happy to assist you with contacting your insurance company in a session if you prefer.
Making Therapy Work with Your Budget Individual, Family and Couples Counseling $90 per hour $110 per 1.5 hours
No fee is charged for short non emergency telephone/email consults and questions. A free 30 minute consultation is offered for clients interested in working together.
Every-other-week appointments are usually an option depending on your needs/goals and therapist availability. Many clients find that a 60 or 90-minute session, twice a month works well. I recommend you budget for between 6 to 8 sessions initially, with the option of continuing in therapy longer if needed. This amount of time gives us a chance to feel comfortable with one another, create goals, and begin to see them actualized. Some of my clients like to touch base just once a month after we have worked together for a while and they feel more stable and secure.
A limited number of clients are seen at Denver Art Therapy Counseling Co., on a sliding scale fee, based on need. Sliding scale appointments are available for clients seen before 3 pm. Clients must provide income verification to determine eligibility.
Please understand that when you make an appointment, I am reserving that time for you. If you are late, there may or may not be a possibility of extending your session to give you your full time. If you miss an appointment, that is time that could have been spent with another client, therefore it is necessary for me to charge for missed appointments. There will be no charge if notice is given 24 hours before the session, or if you are ill or have an emergency.
